In Tarapoto, as in all other cities of San Martin, the streets are crowded with motorcycles. Hence, the best option for going from one place to another is the "mototaxi", an adequate and cheap, although not very comfortable, means of transport. Mototaxis are found quite easily all over the place and can take you to the nearby tourist attractions. It is best to settle fares before boarding the vehicle.
