In the North Coast of Peru the heat prevails the year throughout, but the best time to visit it is from December to March, when the summer sun shines with energetic intensity and the waters of the Pacific become warmer and nice.
The surfing fans will feel like in the paradise between October and March, season of the "tubes" waves that reach 3 metres of height; whereas from April to November the strong winds are propitious for the practice of kite surf, sport activity that will make you live intense experiences.
In general, the more Northern Towns, coves and beaches, especially the Regions of Tumbes and Piura, support very hot temperatures that exceed 30° centigrade.
Towards the South - Lambayeque and La Libertad, the temperature of the atmosphere and waters of the Pacific, is lower due to the presence of the cold Humboldt Current.
Between November and March there are sporadic rains, except when the El Niņo appears, a current that produces an unusual heating of the waters; then, the precipitations are increased considerably and the climate changes in a dramatic way.
