WHEN TO GO TO NAZCA LINES-PARACAS

Agood time to visit ICA is during the International Festival of the "Vendimia", the celebration of the grape harvest, the most important tourist event in Ica and takes place on the first fortnight of March. During this celebration there is parade of colourful floats, competitions of prancing horses, cockfights, wine and Pisco tasting contests, as well as the traditional "Yunza". This is a celebration where men and women form a circle around a tree full of presents and try to cut it down with a machete or axe. Whoever manages to fell the tree will organize the following year's party.
