To get to the fortified city of Kuelap, you must take, in Chachapoyas, a vehhicle that goes to Tingo. After a four- hours trip you will arrive to the end of the passable route.

From this point you will climb to Kuelap Citadel - located at the top of a mountain- through a stone staircase surrounded by orchids. The passage takes near 20 minutes.
