Due to its hot climate, Iquitos is a city of motorcycles. The mototaxi is therefore the easiest way for the traveler to get around. A very light vehicle similar to a motorcycle, the mototaxi has a "carriage" at the back with capacity for two or three passengers. Fares are always settled before boarding.

For transportation within the city, visitors may prefer to use public transport; which has buses and minibuses covering specific routes.
