Travel Agencies in Huaraz provide different tours in the area. Most agencies can be found in Avenida Mariscal Luzuriaga, with the most economical tour costing around 50 soles or aproximately 14 dollars. This tour includes a quick visit to the towns of Recuay, Caraz, Yungay and Yanganuco Lake.

Agencies also offer tours to the citadel of Chavin de Huantar, a pre-Hispanic construction whose underground passages inspired the strategic rescue operation carried out by the Fujimori government to free the hostages in the Japanese ambassador's residence in Peru in 1997.
