You must firstly get to the Town of Chivay, located at 150 kilometres from the City of Arequipa, in order to reach the Colca Canyon. You can follow either one of two routes: The first option is taking the highway northwest bound for Yura until reaching the mountain pass known as the Vantage Point of the Condors, and then descending toward Chivay.

The other route goes along the 160-kilometre long Chachani road, which descends through a zigzagging highway on the slopes of the Chachani to then continue all the way to the Colca Valley.

Once you are in Chivay, you can go on a tour that will take you up to the Canyon, at 30 kilometres, where you will enjoy a spectacular landscape.
