This reserved area was established on October 5, 1982,

through Law (Resolución Ministerial) N 006-92-82-AG/DGFF.
This area is situated in the department of Lambayeque, province of Ferreñafe, district of Incahuasi and has a surface of 11 346,90 hectares.
The main goal of this area is to preserve the pava aliblanca (Penelope albipennis), which belongs the wild fauna which is in danger of extinction.
Quebrada de Negrahuasi, Quebrada de Reloj - Sector Lajas, and Quebrada de Shembo are the areas where this animal live.
