The Field of the Children (in Chincha)

A piece of land, which was used as a garbage dump was given to the children of the school Nuestra Señora de Fátima in Chincha, South of Lima on the Peruvian Coast. They, from the very first moment, were excited in the possibility of shaping their dreams in that space and they named it the Field of the Children. After much effort, they seeded a wall of the local tree "Huaranguillo" and then they built a cabin for meetings, a children' playground and were able to obtain from that parcel of land maize, lettuces, tomatoes and many different flowers. Today the place has changed face completely, with the children participating in recycling campaigns and having fun playing in their new field.
