Acknowledged as second most important city in Peru,Arequipa is distinguished both by its fine architecture and delicious food, and by its eternally blue sky. lt is not surprising that this city leaves an indelible imprint on all who visit her, because in addition she is seated at the foot of imposing Misti volcano,

a real monument of nature.
The White City. Called so because its buildings made of volcanic ash thrown up by Chachani volcano, that has become white and petrified - are a biend of Italian, Spanish and Andean. But its welcoming nature lies in the Quechua phrase "ari, quepay" (yes, stay) which was the answer of Inca Mayta Capac to his warriors when they asked him to make a halt in this beautifui land.
